Kandasha Byers

Kandasha Byers
Kandasha Byers's story was featured on “For My Man” on a show titled, Young and Naïve. The show's description states: A teenage girl falls for a handsome older man, then a gruesome discovery reveals that this love story has a dark side; before long, police are on the trail of a teen who will go to any lengths to be with her man.

Kandsha testified that Rhone was never her boyfriend but rather a onetime friend who beat her and forced her to become his “moneymaker”
David Rhone
after she rejected his request to be his girlfriend. Rhone forced her to prostitute herself out of a walk-in closet in a residence where they were staying, she said. Later, she said, Rhone insisted she take part in the robbery of Thornton, a 59-year-old woman for whom he worked running errands.

During sentencing, she said, "I am sincerely sorry for my part that I have done. I just pray and I hope that y’all will be able to forgive me. I am trying to forgive myself for what I’ve done. I know that she was a good person”.

She pleaded guilty to murder in May 2014 in juvenile court. David Rhone was charged with Capital Murder, but pleaded to murder and was sentenced to forty years in prison.

Kandasha Byers was sentenced to 30 years. She is eligible for parole in 2029.

Kandasha is the poster child of why you have to teach teen girls to beware of men much older then they are. These predators see your child coming from a mile away, know what they want to hear, say it and use and abuse them. It's not enough to talk about the birds and bees and sex ed, but teach them to spot manipulation and more.
